DP TellAfriend is free for use on your personal non-commercial web site. Using the script on a professionel and/or commercial site requires a commercial license obtained from DanPromote - the price is currently (january 2001) 10 USD.

Using the script on a professionel and/or commercial site without obtaining a commercial license will result in legal steps towards the responsible.

----- 2 - Terms of use -----

This script is provided "as is". This means that DanPromote can not be held responsible for any failure or malfunction what so ever.

If you don't accept or understand these termes - don't use the script !

----- 3 - Before uploading -----

Before uploading anything check the few things:

Edit the files "tellafriend.html" and "tellafriend_ok.html" in order to make them fit the rest of your website. Please note the 2 hidden fields on "tellafriend.html": "resurl", which tells the script where to send the visitor after sending the email, and "subject", which holds the subject/hedaline of the email.

Edit the file "tellafriend.txt". The file contains the text used in the email. In the text, you may use a number of special tags as listed below:

	##TO_NAME##	The name of the receiver
	##TO_EMAIL##	The email address of the receiver
	##FROM_NAME##	The name of the person, who sent the email
	##COMMENT##	The comment (if entered)

In the file tellafriend.pl:

	Set the lines

	#!/usr/bin/perl  and
	$mailprogram = '/usr/sbin/sendmail';

	according to your server.

	Also remember to insert your own email address in the line:
	$from_email = 'mail@yourdomain.com';

----- 4 - Where to put the files -----

Now it's time to get the script 'on the air' !

These files should be uploaded in a directory af your choice:

	tellafriend.html  and  tellafriend_ok.html

These files should be uploaded in a subdirectory named "cgi-bin":

	tellafriend.txt  and  tellafriend.pl

In "cgi-bin" chmod the file "tellafriend.pl" to "755".

Finally at your main page add a link to "tellafriend.html" and recommendation is on the way.
